An Italian from Kipseli (1968)
28 Oct 1968 • Comedy • 1h 51m
Driven by a compelling xenomania--that is, to have an excessive enthusiasm and a strong preference for all things foreign--the extremely rich heiress to an immense fortune, Toula Spanou, has made it clear: Her brother, Antonis, who studies in Italy, is to marry a foreign woman or he won't inherit a penny. However, as if things weren't bad enough, the love-smitten sibling falls for the charms of an alluring art student--the Grecian, Bianca--and before they know it, they become husband and wife. Now, as the happy newly-weds return to their hometown of Athens, only a brilliantly devious plan and the aid of an unexpected ally whose Toula's oppression has really got under his skin can help change her mind. But, can an Italian from Kipseli hoodwink an entire family into believing Romans do it better?
