In early-twentieth-century France, the lowly officer and incorrigible philanderer, Major Ferdinand Walsin Esterhazy, backed up by the corrupt military authorities, charges the honourable captain, Alfred Dreyfus, with treason, accusing him of selling national secrets to the Germans. Sentenced during a mockery of a trial, with the judge having decided the verdict in advance, Dreyfus is imprisoned; however, only one man is firmly convinced of his innocence: Emil Zola. Now, he has to fight to expose those behind the sinister conspiracy. Can he clear Captain Dreyfus' name?
