To finally walk down the aisle with his much younger fiancée who is at the end of her tether, Vagelis Tarniatis, a middle-aged wholesale meat supplier, must first get Eftichia, his beauty-challenged spinster sister, married. As a last resort, Vagelis turns to Kleomenis, his unmarried employee who wants to settle down; however, despite his considerable and persistent efforts, coming to understand Eftichia's inner charm remains a delicate and insoluble problem.
