Nick goes away to college, a fictional Ivy League-style school known as Balfour. His roommate, stuck-in-the-1940s Brock, takes Nick under his wing and gets him involved in campus politics and a campaign to save the old clubhouse, the Coatroom. As Brock's political actions become increasingly fascist, the consequences are disastrous for all sides involved.
