A tragicomical mono-drama of a sensitive and talented artist who falls to pieces under the weight of his own fruitless attempts to become an understood and accepted film director. "The Diary of the Hurdy-Gurdy Man" is a make-believe documentary based on the very special video diary, that this obsessed and maniacal character, the Hurdy-Gurdy Man, records during what eventually turns out to be the last year of his sad and unsuccessful life.
