The same folklore was what the Disney animation Mulan is based on, and similarly, it was what many Chinese movies/operas/plays based on.This 1939 movie is one of the first movie made about our heroine that was with the sound. It is much better than the 1927 silent movie of the same topic because the silent flick contained too much martial arts fighting scenes, while this one contains more drama.
