As fresh as a daisy, the self-confident and ambitious young man, Kostas Labiris, becomes the newest employee of a small company that sells threads of spool. Likewise, Liza Zeriga, the pampered daughter of a failed industrialist, lands a job as a typist at the same firm. Of course, both happy-go-lucky pipe-dreamers see this job just as a stepping stone to better things and a brighter future; however, life is as exciting as it is unpredictable. As a result, as the days turn into weeks, which turn into months, which turn into years, a seemingly interminable succession of joys and sorrows transform Kostas and Lizas' zealous aspirations into bitter disappointment, and their youthful optimism into utter defeat. What is the cost of a lost dream?
