Andrzej Wajda's first movie looks at the pottery in the town of Ilza, Poland. Much of it shows the actual process of creating all the objects out of clay. "Ceramika ilzecka" ("The Pottery at Ilza" in English) is essentially a student film, lasting only about 10 minutes, but it shows some neat steps in the making of these objects. A few years after this short, Wajda of course made his mark on cinema with "Pokolenie" ("A Generation" in English) and has since become probably the most famous director in Polish history. He's currently working on a biopic of Lech Walesa, which I hope to see.Co-director Konrad Nalecki later became a director in his own right.
