Pas de pitié pour les femmes (1950)
30 Aug 1950 • Drama, Mystery • 1h 35m
Bearing more than a distant resemblance to Boileau-Narcejac's " Maldonne" which was transferred to the screen by Sergio Gobbi in the sixties,"Pas de Pitié Pour Les Femmes" is not a rip off though cause Jean Giltene's novel -which I haven't read- was written at least a decade before.Michel Auclair portrays Michel, a young man down on his luck ,without a penny to his name.As a man,Alain ,has disappeared , and as he is a dead ringer for the missing person,he winds up in a luxury apartment ,with a wife and a lover. The plot thickens when he learns that Alain has been murdered....Sometimes a bit confused ,but should appeal to people who like thrillers involving setups.
