Jean Poiret and Michel Serrault were among the most famous funny male duets of the French cinema.Their material did not always do justice to their talent but it includes at least a great movie:Sacha Guitry's "Assassins Et Voleurs" .Later they went their separate ways ,but Poiret wrote "La cage Aux Folles" in which Serrault was featured and which became an international blockbuster."Nina" is pure "Theatre De Boulevard" ,filmed stage production ;the director has almost nothing to do -unless a short sequence of dream counts-.This is the umpteenth variation on the hackneyed theme of the love triangle;the male duet is joined by ebullient Sophie Desmaret and Yves Robert in an episodic role.Poiret is the lady-killer with many affairs;Serrault is one of the unfortunate hubbies ,who wants to shoot his rival;,but he has failed to take his missus' control over him into account. She treats him like a big baby and he does not know anymore if he should get rid of the lover...or of the wife.Strictly not for highbrows ,but should appeal to Poiret/Serrault fans .
