The Four Monks (1963)
19 Sep 1963 • Comedy • 1h 40m
To make ends meet, four scoundrels pass through refugee friars from Hungary, hoping to reap some money. However, they end up in a convent where they experience fasting and penances. When they decide to escape, they discover that Baron Cimino is in love with the greengrocer's daughter and that he, like everyone else in the village, is afraid that Saruzzo Messina will return, mafia and promised husband of his daughter. Giocondo has the umpteenth idea: given the similarity, make Gaudenzio dress like Saruzzo to extort money from the villagers. But the real Messina comes back and then..
