Scrappy's Camera Trouble (1936)
05 Jun 1936 • Animation, Short • 0h 7m
Scrappy wants to take pictures of animal life, which means his dog Yippie. Young brother Oopie wants the picture to include him in this middle-period Scrappy cartoon.Scrappy had certainly lost a lot of its mad punch in the past few years, but it was a product of Charles Mintz' studio, which meant he picked up some extra money by selling tied-in novelties. His other popular series was Krazy Kat, and that was owned by the Hearst Syndicate, even if the movie version neither looked nor acted like Herriman's original.Despite having the script credited to Ben Harrison -- who was usually occupied with Krazy Kat -- this one is a bit boring, despite the Disneyfied woodland animals acting like they were drawn by Wally Wood.
