After making a large fortune, a shopkeeper intends to marry his daughter to an important man, even though she is in love with a rancher. To achieve his mission, he decides to take her to the capital, where he will meet a ruined marquis, who, upon learning of the knight's plans, will do everything possible to conquer the girl, in order to keep his money.
