Broadway Malady (1933)
Approved 18 Apr 1933 • Animation, Short
Krazy Kat is done with the work. The city shuts down in a very creative way. He and all his fellow workers leave their factories and jobs and head home. Most of this cartoon involves his efforts to get a ride on the subway. Every time a train stops, huge masses get on, leaving him outside on his face. The conductors try hard to get him on. At one point they use a Billy goat to push the crowd back, but he still becomes the odd Kat out. There are a whole series of creative efforts to break through the crowd. Of course, where there's a will there's a way and he is never gives up. I assumed when I saw the title that it would be another one of those musical review things that were so popular with Mintz, the creator of Krazy Kat.
