A cat begins his morning by exercising to the radio, shaving and making flapjacks. Then he bicycles to his job at an egg factory, run by Farmer Al Falfa. The cat is in love with Al Falfa's secretary, a pretty girl-cat. Al Falfa discourages the romance. The cat's job is to monitor the progress of the hens and to put egg cartons at the end of a chute in order to catch all the eggs that come down directly from the hens. The cat and the girl-cat shirk their duties in order to play pat-a-cake outside. Chaos ensues.
