It's a fairly standard Terry plot as the rich cat and the poor mouse compete for the affections of the girl mouse; an octopus seizes the girl mouse and provides the thrill in the cartoon. It's a pretty good cartoon, with standard but amusingly executed gags follow, one after the other for most of the cartoon. Most interesting to modern viewers is probably the fact that the girl mouse -- who spends much of the cartoon in a fetching white one-piece swim suit -- sings a bit in a very good imitation of Helen Kane, whose style of singing was also imitated by the Fleischers for Betty Boop. The version that is available is short, less than five minutes. Its short length makes it all the more watchable.
