Suivez-moi jeune homme (1958)

This is a pleasant harmless comedy ,not unlike the American ones of the thirties .Dany Robin and Daniel Gélin makes a nice pair in the classical parts of "enemies-turned-in love ;the story is quite zany, which is fine with me: a Greek Tycoon (Michel Galabru, with an accent) thinks the chick he's got a crush on is having an affair with another man;she's not ,but she 's in charge an invaluable necklace she has to take to Cannes by train with the help of a private eye.But the millionaire has also her followed by an investigator from Noel Roquevert's seedy agency:the boss 's got only one man,but this man can be a young gigolo or a respectable greybeard,or ..you name it .The best moments happen in the first part in the train with mistaken identities and false beards;then a nice part in the Provence landscapes where Gélin pretends he is a farmer's son (and Fernand Sardou does not even notice he's got the local accent);the movie loses steam in the second half and sometimes verges on slapstick farce ,but the actors keep the interest throughout
