Pete kicks Oswald really hard to get him out of the way: so hard he winds up on Mars. Asked who he is, he sings "Lucky Rabbit".This cartoon is largely a synchronized one, but there are two sequences in which they are fully sound cartoons: two song sequences. It's a very good effort for fans of old movies, in part because the voyage to Mars looks like one of Georges Melies' space fantasies like "A Trip to the Moon" or "The Voyage Across the Impossible" with its humanized astronomical objects and acrobatic Martians. It also suggest Bob Clampett's great PORKY IN WACKYLAND with some of the chimerical Martians. Tex Avery was one of the animators and I'm sure he tossed some ideas to Clampett.
