There's something a bit off about the animation in this Oswald the Lucky Rabbit cartoon. There are segments of it in which the characters move as if they are weightless As for the cartoon itself, it's pretty much an old-time melodrama, as Oswald the paperboy thwarts Pete in his dastardly plot to steal the old man's gold; there's even a variation of the tied-to-the-mill-saw gag out of the classic meller, BLUE JEANS. Unfortunately, the straight-faced recitation of the tropes is supposed to be the point of the movie. The funny stuff is a bit scarce and there are several points --- like the endless line of cops that Oswald leads to the rescue -- that make me think this one didn't spent as much time in development as it should have.
