One Man's Fate (1940)

Young farmer Paavo's wife dies in childbirth, and their baby soon follows. The wife's family claims back the dowry she brought to their marriage, but Paavo has already used most of it for farm improvements. Paavo resorts to drinking and his life heads downhill.
