Sotapojan heilat (1958)
15 Aug 1958 • Comedy • 1h 32m
It's time for some military fun, as the recruits try to survive the time in the army.Recruit Puustinen has lots of girl pen pals. The others don't like it, so they decide to do something about that.Soon the place is packed with girls.Sotapojan Heilat (1958) is directed by Aarne Tarkas.Lasse Pöysti gives another great comedic performance as Recruit Esko Puustinen.Pöysti himself doesn't think too big of these military farces he did, but I certainly like them.Tommi Rinne is terrific as Matti Kervinen.Sakari Halonen is great as Recruit Toivo.Leo Jokela is terrific as Lance sergeant Lilja.Leni Katajakoski is fantastic as Helmi.Elina Salo is wonderful as Sirkka Kolehmainen.Aila Arajuuri is fantastic as Liisa.Hannes Häyrinen gives a great performance as Captain.Uljas Kandolin is very good as Lieutenant-colonel.Matti Oravisto plays Captain Hurme. There is plenty of fun stuff in this movie, like when one recruit has to play "Tonavan Aallot" with his harmonica and the boys have to survive the waves of their beds.A funny scene is when Puustinen is explaining to Kervinen how he fools all those ladies in his letters, and they are standing behind him. It's most fun to watch Kervinen swimming back as he has spent time with the barber girl Liisa, and Lilja takes his clothes as he is hiding in the bushes. He gets them back with the help of Puustinen. It's hilarious when Matti notices the girl has gives him a curly hair. And also when those two boys have to do some work, and there's a lady there. They both swear to each other they will not ever have anything to do with women, but this particular one, Helmi, looks very tempting. This was the last of seven military farces Fennada Filmi made.It was a great movie to stop.
