La cameriera (1974)
02 Nov 1974 • Comedy • 1h 35m
Maria, a maid, is awake and beautiful girl who came from Veneto, to the house of the Sicilian baron Ruggero, widower of a French dancer Yvette. At the center of insistent attention, the waitress inflames the males of the village of Taurisano, including her employer and his son Massimino, holders of sound principles and strict rules on the physical integrity of his daughter Cristina, but extremely liberticidal with all other women. Father and son compete for the sinful body of the waitress 'Marietta', already occupied, only apparently conciliatory to their direct advances. Meanwhile, the mafioso enriched by Don Gaetano Calamarà comes from Brooklyn, together with his wife Rosalia and Concetta, ready to enjoy the money at home, nostalgic for his country, suddenly died of strong emotion during his travel. The unexpected arrival in a coffin of Don Gaetano, astonishes the baron who had organized the festivities in the square. The two women, gruesome and not at all in pain, want to see clearly about the assets administered by the baron instead of the now-disappeared Sicilian-American godfather. The baron asks her to marry, freeing himself from highlighting further economic clarification to the widow. At the same time, after a trip to Gallipoli, his son falls in love with Connie deciding to marry her. The ruthlessness of Connie's easy manners could blow up the plans: the baron is blackmailed by the girl, telling him to keep quiet about his moral conduct, if he doesn't want her to denounce the various cash shortages procured by him from the Calamarà.
