Un père et passe (1989)
09 Aug 1989 • Comedy • 1h 28m
It's already been some time since Marianne gave up her job as a press photographer: since she almost succumbed to the bombings in Beirut. There, she had written three pleading letters to the three "possible" fathers of her daughter Camille. Three letters that never left - But Marianne accepts to go back to work for the agency of her ex-lover, Nikos. A dangerous mission: here she is a prisoner in South Africa. Camille is alone: Maxence, Marianne's current companion, is a very poor protector. So, Camille sends the three letters, which she found by chance. And soon, the three "fathers" show up. Jacques, a principled professor, who dreams of having a child; Cyril, an antique dealer as shady as he is casual; and Pascal, the youngest, a big brother, rather. If we add to this Nikos, who feels responsible, Maxence, who insists on asserting his so-called rights, a dreadful neighbor, a persistent water leak, and the intervention of the DDASS, the mess is total. When Marianne returns, finally free, she and Camille have a long talk. And if, for having somewhat hustled the DDASS to take Camille away, the "five fathers" are taken away by the police, Camille has adopted them, the false ones as well as the real one.
