Pu ti men (1978)

One of the demons, a girl in red (I'd rather describe her as a jinn) leaves the flame mountain and witnesses strange things going on in the world of the humans. However, she is free to cause even more confusion. She uses her special abilities like invisibility to fight wizards with other talents such as shape-shifting and enjoys herself tremendously. In my favorite scene, she is captured in a bottle like Aladin's jinn, then she tries some Kung fu kicks inside till the bottle breaks. Hilarious! Along with some of the cheapest special effects I've ever seen, "The Demons in the Flame Mountain" is innocent fun; an Eastern fantasy movie with a good deal of comedy and non-stop action. My video CD bought in southern China is unfortunately in full-screen TV format which probably does little justice to the photography. A widescreen release on DVD would be nice for this really obscure rarity. Hu Chin, although credited first in most entries on the net, appears but briefly.
