Decent comedy with the great and likeable comedian Jose' Luis Ozores , giving a real comical recital . He is a redneck who cultivates vegetables and working hardly in the countryside growing products, when he is convinced by two military parachuters to carry out a better life at the air army. Then, he leaves his mother and his rustic job and enlists as a rookie soldier in Alcantarilla headquarter from the Air Army. There the hapless new soldier suffers all kinds of pranks by a group of veteran parachuters : Manuel Zarzo, Venancio Muro, among others, while the stiff sergeant punishes him. Then, a war emerges, and they have to battle in Sidi Ifni, Morocco.Along the way he falls in love for a beautiful young girl : Pilar Cansino.Enjoyable and diverting comedy about a redneck or Spanish Paleto who recruits into Air Army and the veteran soldiers pull a few pranks on him. It delivers a lot of silly situations, entertaiment and amusement. The highlights of the movie are the successive practical jokes that the parachuters execute against the unfortunate Jose' Luis Ozores. There stands out the always sympathetic Jose' Luis Ozores. He was father of actress Adriana Ozores, son of actors Mariano Ozores and Luisa Puchol, being brother of actor Antonio Ozores and director Mariano Ozores. His film debut was El ultimo caballo by Edgar Neville, playing usually secondary roles as Esa pareja feliz by JA Bardem, Historias de la radio by Saenz de Heredia, Calabuch by Berlanga . His success in Recluta con niño, becomes a main actor, playing important characters as Los ladrones somos gente honrada, La Cenicienta y Ernesto, El Gafe, El fotogenico, El tigre de Chamberi, El aprendiz de malo, El hombre del paraguas blanco, Un angel tuvo la culpa. Jose Luis Ozores is well assisted by a nice plethora of Spanish secondaries as Manuel Zarzo, Pilar Cansino, Venancio Muro, Jose Marco, Jose Riesgo, Roberto Camardiel, among others.It contains a colorful cinematography in the Sixties style by Godofredo Pacheco. Atmospheric musical score by Pagan, including popular and jinjoist songs. The motion picture was professionally directed by the craftman Ramon Fernandez. He was a prolific filmmaker who made all kinds of genres, outstanding in comedy, in fact he directed the Spain's most boxoffice film : No desearas al vecino del quinto.He directed al kinds of genres as thriller : Rueda de sospechosos, Siete minutos para morir, La muerte ronda a Monica, Religious genre : Sor YeYe, El Cristo del oceano, Musical : Las aventuras de Enrique y Ana, A tope, and of course, comedy : Margarita se llama mi amor, Cateto a babor, El diablo cojuelo, Las panteras se comen a los ricos, Casa Flora, Simon contamos contigo, Es que lo es, Matrimonio al desnudo, Gay club ,El donante, La insolita hazaña del cipote de Archidona, El adultero, El que no corre vuela and many others. Rating 6/10. Passable and acceptable.
