Die junge Sünderin (1960)
28 Oct 1960 • Drama, Romance • 1h 33m
This is a classic story about a poor girl who's fed up with her bad living conditions and her attempts to break out.Eva Reck, acted by beautiful young Karin Baal, decides to look for a wealthy man that would marry her and so opens her a life in wealth and luxury. She's convinced that money will blow away all her sorrows and sadness. She finds her ideal guy in her best friend's(Carola) father, Werner Ortmann- a rich businessman. Unluckily, he only wants to be her lover- her dreams collapse since she was completely sure he would marry her.Her search continues- with much heartache and distress.I liked this movie- although I'm not a fan of classic movies or German movies at all- this one shows that there was a time German movies were worth to watch. All actors were awesome, especially Karin Baal, Rudolf Prack and Rainer Brandt. Although this movie's title is "The Sinful Girl" or "The Young Sinner" - except a short kissing scene there's nothing vulgarly included... well of course there wasn't since this movie was filmed 1960- but if you knew today's German movies you'll appreciate it :-)Director Rudolf Jugert did a good job... you somehow always have a feeling for young and naive Eva Reck, who desperately searches a way out of poverty for which she would also sacrifice her true love.
