Les corsaires du Bois de Boulogne (1954)
31 May 1954 • Comedy • 1h 17m
First effort by Norbert Carbonnaux ,whose career was short-lived but not uninteresting."When you travel by sea, you'd better use a raft , because many ships have been wrecked on rocks ,reefs or icebergs ;when you're on your raft, with all mod cons and plenty of food, you're ready to brave the bad weather and all the dangers of the sea.Three street singers ,without a penny to their name, meet a millionaire's daughter : they make her believe they want to escape from the world and its trivial pleasures .The Bois De Boulogne will provide the voluntary shipwrecked with the trunks and wealthy daddy will buy the modern conveniences ( it will be a nice advertising for his business). The first part drags on,but the second ,using the "maman les petits bateaux" nursery rhyme and often imitating the films of the silent age , is pleasant .And the ending is smarter than in the usual comedies .
