This is a story of a simple man who went to army, but didn't know how to read.So he has to be taught how to read. He's very eager to learn by all those ladies, especially by Vieno. But not so much by those who are married. But they are the most eager to teach him.And he gets a lot of coffee to drink. And then there are a couple of villains in this story, who steal the regiment's register.Kaikkien Naisten Monni (1952) is directed by Lasse Pöysti, who also acts the lead. And the movie is also written by Mr. Pöysti. It's based on the novel Aikamiehen Aapinen (1945) by Joel Laikka. This is the first military farce that came from Fennada-Filmi.Lasse Pöysti gives the most hilarious performance as the illiterate Nieminen.I can see a little bit of Jerry Lewis there, or why not some great silent comedians. But it still has Pöysti's own unique style.Saara Ranin is terrific as his mother.Toini Vartiainen is most adorable as Vieno.Reino Valkama makes a fantastic Vääpeli Vasikainen.Great work by other actors as well.Rauha Rentola portrays Elsa Kontunen.Toppo Elonperä is Kauppias August Kontunen.Paavo Jännes plays Eversti.Jutta Armela, real name Zilliacus, is Mirja, his daughter.Heikki Savolainen plays the part of Alokas Nurmi.Eino Haavisto is Kapteeni Sumu.Emma Väänänen plays Postineiti.Pentti Viljanen is Varuskersantti.Veijo Pasanen is in his second movie in an uncredited role playing one of the recruits. Also Maija Karhi and Kaarlo Wilska are seen in the movie. The movie is hilarious in many parts, right from the start, when Nieminen arrives to the army with his mother driving a horse. It is most funny to watch as Nieminen carries those logs to Vieno and, him being too excited of seeing Vieno, drops the logs on Vasikainen. And when he "learns" the alphabet at Mrs. Kontunen's place, the husband shows up.She explains he was fixing the radio and Mr. Kontunen tells him to fix it but he causes only more damage. So he has to run- with the husband following him with a pistol. And there are many other scenes to make you laugh.Great work, Pöysti!
