A Mexican business traveler falls for a chorus girl who wants to become a zarzuela singer in turn-of-the-century Madrid. Together they will become part of the history of one of the leading zarzuela theaters, Teatro Apolo. Jorge Negrete sings famed zarzuela arias along with clear-voiced soprano María de los Ángeles Morales in one of her few films.
