Set in Mexico City in the 1940s, Gumaro Perez (Joaquin Pardave) is married to a wife (Sara Garcia) who is interested only in money, and appearances. She pretends to be the Countess of Salvatierra while treating Gumaro with no respect. She wants their daughters to marry rich men. Gumaro is forced to leave home. He is helped by a couple of people, he becomes a beggar and realizes he has been too weak and the only way out is to finally find the courage to face his wife.Excellent performances by Joaquin Pardave and Sara Garcia who appear in other movies as a couple with different names. Great to have a good laugh with the family.
