At the same time dealing with historic facts as war for Navarra region against the French and his ultimate vindication , as well as appearance of some historical roles as Queen Juana La Loca , Infanta Catalina, Francisco de Borja , Francisco Javier, Diego Lainez , among others .The picture describes this essential role in History , as a soldier , a sinner and a Saint . As he was a man of battle and violence who, in his attempt to turn to the light , was forced to wrestle with his inner demons to the very brink of death . Chronicling his valiant defense at the battle of Pamplona , his struggles with depression , confrontation with professors and students at the Salamanca University , being even punished to suffer lashes on back , his trial before the Inquisition and anything else . Stars Rafael Duran who gives a passable acting but in style of the 40s . Being accompanied by a good cast such as : Maruchi Fresno as Queen Juana , Manuel Luna , Eduardo Fajardo, Maria Rosa Salgado, Arturo Marin, José Prada , Rufino Ingles , Santiago Rivero, Ricardo Acero , Alicia Palacios and several others .Based on historial events about this great figure : As Ignatius was a military and a religious man . Founder of the Compañía de Jesús , he emerged as a religious person during the famous Contrareforma or anti- Protestant reform . Creator of Jesuit Order , being its First General , formed by just over 1000 members , and founding a lot of schools and religious places . He wrote the Spiritual Exercices that caused a huge influence as a tool to discernment and getting religiosity. Ultimately Ignacio de Loyola was canonized in 1622.
