Luis Coronado is a charismatic young rancher, who has a secret relationship with a pretty girl. Her father, actually the village's sheriff, is against this romantic relationship, because he considers that her daughter deserves a well educated man from the city, an engineer, but the girl is far from love him truly. There will be a dance in the village. The happy young man decides to go to the dance, looking for the girl. But there the engineer and the rancher apparently will have a fight, the sheriff will stop them and warns the rancher about talking or sees his daughter again in the future. Angry, the young rancher tells the engineer that he will kill him one day. However, the rancher's friend will kill the engineer and all the population will blame the young man from the murderer. His friend advices him to get away from the town and hide in a shelter. The girlfriend is very confident about the rancher's innocence, nor the sheriff, who's disposed to catch him and make him pay for his crime. Later, the rancher finds out that his friend, the real murder, is trying to betray him. He escapes from the shelter and he swears to prove his innocence to the sheriff by five o'clock of that afternoon.
