Gérard Favier, a famous pianist and composer, and his wife Sylvia, with whom he is very much in love, meet Monelle, a young, pretty, talented pianist and fervent admirer of Favier. The musician takes the young girl under his wing and propels her towards success. One day, a tabloid newspaper announces that the composer and his young protegee are having an affair.
