Gene Autry (Gene Autry), radio star and leader of the cattlemen, is deceived in business by the local agent of the packing company Jeff Drew (Willaim Henry), who uses funds derived from the sale of beef-on-the-hoof to dabble in the development of a mining property. Gene and Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette) are troubled when they learn their rancher friends are investing their hard-earned money in the hydraulic-mining venture instead of cattle. Jeff's two sisters, Nancy (Louise Currie) and Judy (Edith Fellows), lend support to him through the radio station they own. They take advantage of Gene by altering what he actually said to a on-air recording promoting the sale of the mining stock. Gene eventually learns the dishonesty of mine-manager Dan Pearson Emmet Vogan) is behind all the problems.
