An aristocratic family's daughter is a strong princess. The lord is ill and bedridden. The daughter's younger brother is unhealthy and weak as well. The family's steward is aware that the family is weak heading towards financial ruin. The princess realizes that the man is conducting illegal activities and seeks to admonish and stop them. The steward claims the fiefdom's troubles requires it. Yet, he is on the take and pocketing money. The princess' servants are trustworthy and one is to report to shogun, but a visitor attempts to rape her before the servant's father intervenes resulting in an injury.
