Ellen Ward (Phyllis Brooks), a café waitress yearning for a better life forsakes Donald Sanford (Robert Wilcox, a promising young assistant district attorney, for Charles Blake (Ricardo Cortez), a smooth gangster who can give her the better things in life. Unfortunately, those better things come with a life of crime, and she is soon wanted for murder and jail-breaking, and resorts to plastic surgery to escape the law.
