A reclusive American scientist, Sanderson, is working on an explosive capable of destroying the world, and a foreign spy-ring is after the formula. Federal agent Jack Lynch, who has been working on the case is murdered and his best friend, Bob Woods, heads west to investigate. A woman, searching Lynch's room, flees when Bob and another agent, Wilson, arrive. From Dictaphone reports, Bob learns that Armand Recard, an international spy-for-hire, working with his wife, Vilma and Helen, the woman who was searching Lynch's room, is about to acquire the formula. Wilson is also murdered and Bob pursues the case while learning something he didn't know about Helen, the mystery woman, and also falls into the hands of a sadist named Mullins.
