Mister Antonio (1929)
15 Oct 1929 • Comedy • 1h 13m
In New York City, florist and street musician Antonio Camaradonio befriends a man robbed of his overcoat and money in a disreputable bar. Tony recognizes the man as Milton Jorny, mayor of Avalonia, a very conservative town where Tony was once arrested for playing his hurdy-gurdy. Over time, Tony's travels take him once again to Avalonia. On the outskirts of town, he meets June Ramsey, a cousin of the Milton's wife, who was banished because the mayor feared that her penchant for gaiety would jeopardize his re-election. Initially refusing to allow June's return, Milton relents when Tony reminds him of his recent misadventure. Milton asks June's forgiveness and invites her back to Avalonia. She accepts the apology, but she has fallen in love with Tony, and follows him to New York City.
