The plot of this short comedy is rather chaotically and poorly organized. Perhaps I should say "set up" since typically a comedy short was simply a set for for a bunch of gags. Nonethless, the introduction to the situation -- impoverished Lupino Lane has inherited a valuable watch which was given to his grandfather and vamp Gwen Lee wants it and heavy Otto Fries is trying to help her -- is introduced in a disjointed fashion and then largely dropped. But one does not look at silent comedy shorts for their plots. One looks at them for the gags and Lupino Lane was one of the great spill takers in the business: only Keaton could rival him and their styles were totally different. Here Lane does the most extreme neck roll I've ever seen and when Otto Fries is whirling him around, I don't think it's a dummy. So it's not a great short, but Lane keeps it interesting.
