...and John Stahl knows how to direct, so there's plenty of interesting motion and posing. Once you have said that, you have exhausted the good points of this movie. Yes, Miss Stewart is gorgeous, but she can't act very well. The script is based on coincidences that are so flabbergasting as to defy the ability of the most credulous to accept. Characters' motivations are obscure because the dialogue in the titles don't make any sense, or perhaps it's the other way around. This movie is an utter and abominable piece of dreck. If anyone suggests you see it, kick him in the shins and run away.It was also produced by Louis B. Mayer. From this he wound up head of MGM, the most prosperous of the big studios. Go know.
