The minister of a village is in love with a young girl of the village. However, she is saving her charms for the young schoolteacher, a "man of the world", and they elope. The villagers, a puritanical lot, turn their backs on the young couple for their "sin", and they decide to leave the village They return shortly, however, and warn the people of a coming Indian attack.
